Last week, Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT) Executive Director Naureen Chowdhury Fink was pleased to brief international diplomats and experts during a training session focused on the forthcoming review of the UN Global Counterterrorism Strategy. ED Fink highlighted the roles of emerging technologies and outlined trends and dynamics of the terrorist threat landscape online and the resources and solutions developed by #GIFCT and its nearly 40 member tech companies. The training session underscored the importance of creating practical guidance for the private sector and of strengthening partnerships and engagement to identify and scale up solutions globally. ED Fink stressed that, as the risks are cross-platform and multidimensional, the response needs to be collaborative and multistakeholder, and ensure opportunities for engagement with the tech sector as a key partner in efforts to prevent and counter terrorist content online. We thank United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) and UNICRI - United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute for the opportunity to share insights from our work, and we look forward to continued collaboration. #Collaboration #OnlineSafety #CVE #TechForGood
