🎨✨ This February half term, Family Art Club will be taking inspiration from Brazilian artist Solange Pessoa’s soapstone sculptures. 🌿 Young artists will explore the organic motifs carved into Pessoa’s work and find inspiration in the memories, symbols and stories they hold. ⛏ After spending time among the artworks, they’ll head to the Learning Hub to become sculptors themselves – carving, shaping and personalising their own designs into soap. 🧼 Best of all, their finished artwork isn’t just something to admire – it’s a beautiful bar of soap to display or use at home! 🎟 £8 per child 🌟 Morning sessions | Ages 8–12 | 11am–12.30pm 🌟Afternoon session | Ages 13–17 | 1.30pm–3pm Visit our website for more information and to book: https://lnkd.in/eByY6rZP 📍 Goodwood Art Foundation, Chichester, UK. #Goodwoodartfoundation #februaryhalfterm #solangepessoa #youngartists #soapstonecarving

Reading artwork interpretations written by young artists visiting with IgnitED Education was a highlight of 2025 🎨
Friday Feature: Goodwood Art Foundation 🎨 In August, our Arts Career Programme participants had the privilege of visiting the Goodwood Art Foundation for an inspiring, thoughtfully hosted session exploring interpretation, curation, and creative engagement with art. Led by Madeline Pike alongside the Goodwood Art Foundation team, the day invited young people to experience the gallery and landscape not just as visitors, but as active interpreters and creators. Through guided exploration of The Gallery, participants were introduced to curatorial thinking, interpretation tools, and the Bloomberg Connects platform, before taking part in a discovery trail that encouraged curiosity, observation, and personal response to the exhibition. In the Learning Hub, participants worked collaboratively to: 🎨 Choose and respond to an artwork that resonated with them 🗣️ Share their own perspectives, emotions, and interpretations 🌍 Consider how art can be made accessible and meaningful for diverse audiences 💡 Discussed and considered short engagement activities inspired by artworks, focused on curiosity and deeper connection. The session concluded with a reflective evaluation, capturing young people’s ideas on how they want to engage with art, in both gallery spaces and the surrounding landscape. We’re incredibly grateful to Madeline and the team at the Goodwood Art Foundation for creating such a welcoming, generous, and thought-provoking experience, and for centering young people’s voices throughout the day. Thank you for supporting creative exploration, critical thinking, and the next generation of artists, curators, and cultural leaders 🌱✨

Witness the meticulous installation of I Went Away and Forgot You by Dana Awartani. Comprising a geometric floor composition of coloured sand and a single-channel film, the work resonates with renewed urgency in today’s political climate. Through her act of Erasure, Awartani invites us to reflect on the art forms, architecture and cultural practices that shape our heritage. ERASURE | Winter exhibition open until 12 April 2026. ✨ Looking back on an incredible 2025 at Goodwood Art Foundation ✨ In May, we welcomed our very first visitors 🎉 launching with a spellbinding performance by Nabihah Iqbal, inspired by Keats and our natural landscape 🎶🌿 We were honoured to present Rachel Whiteread as our inaugural headline artist, alongside installations across our 70 acres by artists including Rose Wylie, Isamu Noguchi, Veronica Ryan, Susan Philipsz and Amie Siegel 🌳🎨 🍽️ 2025 also marked the opening of café 24, where Head Chef Harry Cartwright has been widely praised for his outstanding seasonal menu. 🌟 We launched our first-ever events programme, hosting unforgettable experiences with landscape designer Dan Pearson, curator Ann Gallagher and artist Lubna Chowdhary. ✨We opened ERASURE, our first winter exhibition, featuring powerful works by Laís Amaral, Solange Pessoa and Dana Awartani, exploring themes of cultural loss, ancestral memory and the politics of land. 🫶 We've welcomed hundreds of new members, who enjoyed exclusive previews of both our summer and winter exhibitions and shared wonderful reviews of our very first Members’ Supper Club 🥂 We can’t wait to host the next one in February 2026. ✏️ Education has been central to our mission. This year we launched our Schools’ Learning Programme, welcomed our first School in Residence, and hosted family art clubs and interactive art trails across the school holidays 👨👩👧👦 Here’s to an exciting 2026 ahead 🚀✨
