The CW has been streaming since 2006 with no subscription, no login, and no credit card on file. 🤯 That reality turns nearly every product decision into the same question: build it or buy it? At StreamTV 2026, The CW's Head of Product & Data, Zachary Mannon, joins Brightcove's Phil Green for a candid conversation about what it takes to run a free, ad-supported streaming network at scale. They'll discuss: ⭐ Using AI to keep a 20,000-title catalog current without hiring an army ⭐ Keeping viewers engaged when you know almost nothing about them ⭐ The monetization math behind choosing free over a paywall ⭐ A build-vs.-buy framework you can take back to your own roadmap See you there! 📅 Free, Ad-Supported, and Worth It: How The CW Decides What to Build vs. Buy Phil Green, VP Media and Strategic Accounts, Brightcove Zach Mannon, Head of Product & Data, The CW (Nexstar) Thursday, June 18 | 11:00–11:20 AM | Juniper Ballroom C

Two moments inside every video quietly decide what it earns: where the ad plays, and which ad plays there. Today, we’re bringing AI to both with two new capabilities in the Brightcove AI Suite: 🎯 AI Contextual Ads reads each scene and passes contextual signals into the ad call, so the ad fits the moment. Football for one break, tennis for the next. ⚡ Smart Ad Breaks finds the natural moments for mid-rolls across your whole library, while editors stay in control—reviewing, accepting, and adjusting as they go.

A year ago, Brightcove became part of Bending Spoons. Last week at FED Europe in Lucca, we got to show what that's added up to. 💪 20+ new capabilities, built off 100+ customer interviews. A new AI Suite, a recommendation engine driving up to 20–40% more viewership, vertical video experiences, and Prism, our most complete redesign of the platform. It came from operating differently: sharper prioritization, faster iteration, and deep engineering and AI talent pointed straight at real customer problems. Same platform with an entirely different pace. That pace is the whole point. In a year when every media company is deciding what AI actually means for its business, the gap is between what gets talked about and what gets shipped. Thanks to the team at FED EVENTS, Dime Comunicaciones and Andrea M. Michelozzi for the room and the conversations, especially across the Italian media ecosystem, where we're here for the long term. And to our partners Persidera Media, with Guido Fermetti, and B4Next, with Riccardo Patrignani.

Meet Prism. 🌈 The biggest redesign of Brightcove in years: a cleaner, more intuitive interface, built on the same powerful foundation our customers rely on. A year of work and more than 100 customer interviews went into making every screen sharper, simpler, and more consistent. The most common tasks are now the quickest to complete, the same patterns run across every module, and the workflows that matter most are the ones we made easiest. Welcome to the new Brightcove experience. Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/d3-hh-sY

The conventional answer to "bigger product" is "more engineers." The Bending Spoons answer is a different operating model. Small teams working alongside AI, drawing on a shared technology platform and the engineering talent across the whole portfolio — that's what's powering Brightcove's product velocity. Last night in Milan, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Bending Spoons hosted an evening for tech leaders. Luca Repetti Head of Video Engineering, walked the room through how the tech team operates, with Brightcove as the case study. A full AI suite live within months, 20+ major improvements shipped in under a year, and the pace still picking up.

Streaming in 2026 is harder than it looks. More content, more formats, more monetization channels, and audiences that move between live sports, on-demand, and FAST depending on what they feel like watching. Filippo Maria De Salazar joined Neil C. Hughes to talk about where the industry is heading and the three trends broadcasters needs to get right: intelligent automation, monetization discipline, and managing fragmented viewing behaviors without fragmenting operations. 🎧 https://lnkd.in/duFPtU57

NAB Show 2026, that's a wrap 👋 🎙️ Phil Green and PGA TOUR's Eric Hanson took the stage at Dan Rayburn's Streaming Summit to break down what delivering live golf to millions of fans worldwide, every single week, actually looks like. 📍 At our booth, the conversations kept flowing. From AI and monetization to live streaming at scale, and what a modern video platform should look like in 2026. 📸 And yes, we cleaned up well for the team photo. Great to see so many of you in person, already looking forward to next year!

🎬 Last day of NAB Show 2026, and what a week it's been. Our GM Filippo Maria De Salazar is live from the show floor with his take: how the show went, what we've built over the past 12 months, and what's coming next. This year we met with more than twice the number of customers and prospects compared to previous events. And the conversations were full of curiosity, interest, and genuine excitement about where Brightcove is heading. Over the past year, the team has delivered 20+ major platform improvements, built on hundreds of customer interviews and a commitment to making the platform more powerful and more reliable. The direction from here is clear: keep listening, keep shipping, keep innovating. We want to be at the forefront of what's happening in this space, and we want your voice in the room as we build what's next.
