Luli Adeyemo shares her experience SXSW Sydney. Not gonna lie, we're a little bit jealous watching Luli live her best life at SXSW Sydney last week. We do get the best part: hearing her come back to the office absolutely buzzing about the innovation she witnessed. The founders solving real problems. The tech that actually matters. The moment she saw Dr Nandi Spry bringing her daughter to show her what's possible. That's the stuff that reminds us why we're passionate about this work in the first place. Tech isn't just code and algorithms. It's solutions that change lives. It's opportunities that reshape futures. It's innovation that actually impacts real people. So yeah, Luli gets the SXSW badge and the networking, and we get the stories that remind us why we do what we do every single day. (We wouldn't mind seeing that dog poop tech demo though... 🐕) Enjoy the read.... https://lnkd.in/g7hFVxb8

Our founder Luli Adeyemo is mentoring at SXSW Sydney today, so make sure to keep an eye out for her. Also - fan time here at BCS - It's no secret that we are big Neil Patel fans! His myth-busting around digital marketing resonates so much with what we see every day: -"Proof over polish" - YES! Authenticity beats perfection every time - "Stop trying to 'rent' audiences" - Build real communities, not vanity metrics - Local nuance matters - One global creative asset doesn't cut it anymore Neil Patel, if you're still onsite and fancy a chat with Luli Adeyemo about the intersection of authentic marketing and diversity in tech, please go find her! https://lnkd.in/gNHg8jNJ

From B2B Events to New Mattresses ..huh? Textbook circular economy in action. We recently supported ADMA Global Forum, and we work with a local company, that partners with another local company that transforms event materials like the stage backdrops and media walls used at ADMA Global Forum into new mattresses. We have seen a 300% surge in web searches for circular economy events since 2024! The events industry is awakening to a powerful truth: sustainability isn't just about reducing harm—it's about creating positive impact through circular innovation. Genuine circular economy principles at work: *Materials designed for reuse from day one & Local partnerships reducing transport emissions * End-of-life becomes beginning-of-life for new products Let us help you design sustainable events with circular economy at their centre or at least give us a like and share if this sprang a bit of life in you! Because the best events don't just inspire—they regenerate. #CircularEconomy #SustainableEvents #EventManagement #ZeroWaste #ADMA #Innovation

Forrester says B2B event satisfaction dropped 8% and everyone's going smaller... But here in Australia? We're seeing the opposite. Recent high-profile events we've managed are drawing strong crowds and delivering results. The "late registration trend" they mention? Been happening for years. "Greater personalisation"? AI made that standard practice ages ago. Sometimes global research doesn't match local reality. What are you seeing in the Australian market? Forrester’s Q1 2025 State Of B2B Events Survey reveals that overall event satisfaction has dropped by 8% compared to 2024. Many teams face budget pressures and are shifting toward smaller hosted events—59% of marketers plan more intimate gatherings over the next year, while large event hosting has declined. Attendees now register later and expect greater personalization and interactivity at B2B events. https://lnkd.in/dKxr7mVx

Our marketing team in Ireland shared this with us... As marketing professionals, this Ryanair response raises fascinating questions about brand positioning, customer expectations, and the limits of "budget brand behavior." What Ryanair is Doubling Down On: *Ultra-Budget Brand Identity: "You get what you pay for" - stripped down service, stripped down politeness *Attention-Grabbing Controversy: Using inflammatory language like "stupid" generates massive free media coverage *Clear Expectation Setting: No pretense about premium customer service or PR courtesy Questions? - Is This Brand Consistency or Brand Damage? - Where's the Line Between Authentic and Alienating? -Does This Actually Drive Business Results? Bottom Line: Customers will accept basic service for budget prices, but they shouldn't have to accept basic disrespect. Ryanair's approach generates headlines but risks long-term brand equity for short-term controversy. What's your take? Do you see this as authentic brand positioning or unnecessary brand damage? https://lnkd.in/gmzgyVH5

Over a week ago Luli Adeyemo had her BMX cycle gear on competing at the world championships in Denmark. Last night she was overseeing the #TechDiversity - 10 Year Anniversary#TechDiversity - 10 Year Anniversary- operations with her trusted BCS team AND sharing the vision for the TechDiversity Foundation. As both volunteer AND Executive Director at the TechDiversity Awards, she played BOTH roles! From rolling up her sleeves behind the scenes to commanding the stage with the Foundation's vision! Talk about range! From racing tracks to award stages, from helmets to heels, from chasing personal bests to chasing industry change! Whether she's flying around BMX tracks or flying through boardrooms, one thing never changes - Luli's unstoppable drive to push boundaries and prove that limits are just suggestions! We're not saying she's superhuman, but we've never seen her and Wonder Woman in the same room... That's our founder - breaking barriers on bikes AND in boardrooms! #LuliAdeyemo #BMXToAwards #VolunteerAndDirector

We were honoured to work on this event.
Last Friday we hosted the inaugural AWSN Summit 2025 to celebrate our 10-year journey in championing women in security in Australia! The event brought together hundreds of professionals, students, mentors, leaders and allies from across Australia’s security sector. Across the keynotes, panels, workshops, and networking sessions, several key themes emerged: 🔹Leadership & Mentorship - Leadership is not a title but a mindset. Stories of mentorship turning into lifelong impact were shared widely. 🔹 Inclusion & Representation - With women representing only 17% of the cybersecurity workforce, the summit spotlighted the importance of visibility, allyship, and systemic change. Also, the pressing need for deeper dialogue and concrete action around intersectionality, particularly in understanding how overlapping identities impact pay equity and the overall well-being of workers. 🔹 Authenticity & Growth - Sessions on personal development, such as persuasive communication, security incident response communications, building inclusive teams, and self-confidence, encouraged attendees to embrace authenticity and cultivate a growth mindset. 🔹 Community Impact - Many attendees shared how AWSN had transformed their careers, from mentees becoming mentors to chapter leads creating local impact. The summit was described as a “safe space,” a “revolution,” and a “family.” Attendee reflections captured the spirit of the day: “Never seen so many women in cyber in one room.” “A fantastic day to put tools down, connect, learn, and grow.” “Proud to be part of a community that lifts each other up.” “AWSN has shaped my cyber journey - I wouldn’t be here without it.” “I left feeling inspired, empowered, and ready to lead.” “The energy in the room was electric - so many stories of resilience.” “AWSN is more than a network - it’s a movement.” Thank you to everyone who helped make this event possible: MC: Catherine Rowe Panel Moderator and Roundtable Facilitator: Yvette Lejins Keynote Speakers: Jacqui, Jessica Robinson, Leonora Risse, Jennifer Lawrence, Narelle Devine CSM Panellists: Deborah Dalgliesh, Tara Dharnikota, Ann Paul, Jason Qoriniyasi (JQ), Laura O'Neill, Daisy Wong, Lukasz Gogolkiewicz, Dr Morley Muse Workshop Facilitators: Liane Kemp, Claire Pales, ⚡️Emily Edgeley, Lesley Carhart, Lesley Carhart, Astrid Edwards (GAICD), 🧬 Jo Ioannidis, Lena Wang, Amy Beth Corman Lightening talks: Paula Sillars, Liz, Simone V., Nadia Taggart, Roma .
