MobilityPlus France is installing 200 charging points at Stories - The inspiring village, a 64,000 m² campus in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, near Paris. In the same token, they are implementing dynamic power management to optimise energy consumption, ensuring efficient use of resources and improved charging performance. Alfen is pleased to announce that it has signed a new deal with Libra Energy for the promotion and resale of Alfen EV chargers. Signed in December at the Libra Energy offices in Velsen-Noord, the agreement builds on a strong and successful partnership and reflects a shared ambition to further strengthen and expand the collaboration going forward. By deepening our cooperation, both parties aim to accelerate the adoption of reliable and high-quality charging solutions across the market. Among those present were Bram van Zalk, CEO of Libra Energy, and Michael Colijn, CEO of Alfen, marking an important next step in the partnership.

Alfen has been selected by Renner Energies to supply a 12MW, 2-hour battery energy storage system in Virton, Belgium, following the customer’s financial close. Building on our track record of large-scale storage systems across Belgium, from the coast of Oostende to now the southern tip in Virton, this project will deploy our modular TheBattery Elements technology to support grid flexibility and enable trading access to various energy markets. The system will be connected to the local DSO Ores and delivered full turnkey by Alfen, including civil works and grid connection. This marks the first battery storage investment for Renner Energies, a major international developer in wind and solar. Alfen supported the customer throughout the process, from early consultancy to final contracting. “This project reflects a clear shift in the energy landscape,” says Yves Vercammen, Country Manager Belgium at Alfen. “We’ve worked closely with the client to navigate their entry into battery storage, backed by one of the world’s largest institutional investors.” Construction started last month, with commissioning expected by summer 2026. #TeamAlfen #TheBatteryElements

We are proud to announce that Alfen will be delivering two new battery storage projects in Belgium: a 35MW with 4 hours of storage capacity in Geel and another one in Massenhoven. Both sites will connect to the Elia transmission grid at 150kV and deploy 30 battery container units of our TheBattery Elements technology. These systems will store surplus renewable electricity and feed it back to the grid when it’s needed most. This is an important step towards a more flexible and reliable energy system in Belgium. Construction is set to start in mid-2026, with commercial operation expected at the end of 2027. We’re looking forward to working with HybriX Energy, who will operate the systems across multiple energy and flexibility markets, helping to build a cleaner, more resilient energy landscape for Belgium.
