Where are you asking students to spend their mental energy? This recent column in The Chronicle of Higher Education really resonated with our mission to ensure students can easily navigate administrative functions and dedicate their energy where it matters most—in the classroom. “If our goal is to educate students, to ask them to grapple with hard topics and challenges, we should prioritize the places where the learning we most care about takes place over the places where transactions occur.” https://lnkd.in/e5ARfqJD

Hudson County Community College was recently recognized with the 2025 AcOpscar for an outstanding Roll Out. The team at HCCC moved away from an entirely manual scheduling process that required entering 500 unique courses manually and led to hundreds of emails each scheduling cycle. After coordinating with numerous stakeholders, meticulously developing a rollout timeline, and facilitating numerous training modules, they’ve transformed their scheduling process with new workflows that led to an 85% reduction in emails received. They are also now able to build their academic schedule a full year in advance, a feat never before possible. Congratulations to the incredible team at HCCC! https://lnkd.in/eidxyme7

Congratulations to Minnesota State Community and Technical College as the winner of the 2025 AcOpscar Award for Innovation. The M State team worked incredibly hard over the past year to unify their data, consolidate systems, and improve operational efficiency. These initiatives were all centered around creating a more responsive, student-centered institution that is powered with real-time data. Their innovative work, particularly around course scheduling, has shown outstanding results with 919 hours freed up annually and an estimated hundreds of thousands of dollars saved. We recently recognized some outstanding institutions who are leaders in the academic operations space. The 2025 AcOpscar for Change Management went to Isothermal Community College. On their journey to unify their academic operations, they re-evaluated and revised nearly every background academic process, from the initial creation of courses to the intricate review of curriculum proposals. As a result of their hard work, they’ve dramatically improved internal workflow efficiency, enhanced information accessibility and accuracy, and become a resource for others colleges in the state. Congratulations to the team at Isothermal!
