Note: Boston, Massachusetts, USA Educational publisher known best in the mid-20th century for elementary school textbooks Edwin Ginn established this company or its earliest predecessor in 1867, perhaps under another "Ginn" name. "Ginn and Heath" (not in the database, end 2017) for some time to 1885, when partner Daniel Collamore Heath established D. C. Heath & Co. and Company (see the latter) American publishers Silver Burdett (from 1888, Silver Burdett Press) and Ginn & Company (older), both known for elementary school textbooks, were merged by Simon & Schuster as the imprint Silver Burdett Ginn, after Simon & Schuster acquired the former in 1986.
