Title page credits "introduction by Dr. A. S. Rappoport", and no other essay. That refers to an essay that precedes "The Shadowless Man" and closes (three lines): "A. S. Rappoport. // Berck-Plage. // September, 1913." Another essay precedes "The Cold Heart" and closes "H. Robertson Murray" (no date). The ebook contains an apparent transcript of the print Contents list, except that a right-hand column with heading "Page" is empty. Under each main heading "The Shadowless Man" and "The Cold Heart", the first listing is "Introduction". The List of Illustrations (30) does contain page numbers under heading "To face page". Those facing page numbers span 2 to 92 for "The Shadowless Man" (frontispiece + 16) and 14 to 72 for "The Cold Heart" (13 illustrations). After the end of "The Cold Heart", the ebook closes with two lines (quote):   * * * * *   Printed by Ebenezer Baylis & Son, Trinity Works, Worcester.
