Michael was nominated for an for an ACTRA Award for Outstanding Performance for his lead role in this independent feature film. The Village Voice touted the film as having a "great central performance" and that Michael's performance was "thunderous" and "heart-rending". The film won the Jury Award at the Barcelona International Film Festival.
