Ana Ularu and Mark Rowley in Lift Share (2018)

Lift Share (2018)

Short, Drama

Lift Share Trailer
Two strangers meet online and share a road trip to the remote Outer Hebrides. Both with broken family ties, Marina, (Ana Ularu), is a young Romanian woman, desperate to find her child. Murdoch, (Mark Rowley), is a Scottish musician, reluctant to attend the funeral of his estranged father. As they pass through a landscape that mirrors their shared sense of isolation, bold shifts in timeframe reveal what each character hopes and fears they might do on reaching the brooding islands. Lift Share is short drama film, made with support from Scottish Film Talent Network (SFTN), An Comhairle (Western Isles Council, Outer Hebrides), Faction North and Kolik Films. Lift Share is supported by the National Lottery through Creative Scotland in partnership with the BFI NET.WORK and made with support from The Scottish Film Talent Network, which is a consortium of the Centre for the Moving Image, DigiCult and Hopscotch Film.
