Mr McKinley in Moviola Mayhem (2008)

Short

Mr McKinley in Moviola Mayhem
Mr McKinley is back from dead and ready for another adventure. Mr McKinley is enjoying himself at the funfair. He comes across a stall advertising an exciting new attraction ‘The Maimoscope’, how can he resist? What he doesn’t realise is that the evil Dr has set up another dastardly trap for our unsuspecting hero. But once again fate is watching over our McKinley to ensure he has the last laugh. From the team behind ‘Fate and Mr McKinley’ and ‘Vespers’ comes the first ever silent splatter film. Moviola Mayhem is yet another visual spectacle that plays with the conventions of the silent era to deliver a film that will amuse and entertain well beyond its short running time. ‘Mr McKinley in Moviola Mayhem’ was independently funded and was shot entirely blue screen in the director’s kitchen. The crew survived on tea and biscuits alone. The film is another guerrilla production that further illustrates how modern technology can aid short filmmakers to produce visually entertaining pieces of work. Everything in the film was faked in post production, everything apart from the two lead actors who had to imagine their surroundings and props. All other images were sourced or sketched or stolen, and then patched together using Adobe After Effects to create McKinley’s world.
