The year is 2009, but Turkey is still the Ottoman Empire. In the beginning of the movie a young boy (Mustafa Kemal Ataturk) dies climbing a tree ... fictitiously, of course ... meaning Turkey never gained independence as a republic. However, this does not stop Turkey seeking to join the European Union. In this clip, the EU is accepting the famous Heybeli Island as a bribe for EU membership, until the Sultan (Ata Demirel) gets wind of the plot and intervenes. Charles Carroll plays the head of the EU role.
