All About Captain America: Brave New World
Cap is back! And although he may lack the superstrength of Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) has Steve's shield and a pair of supercool rocket wings!
Let's set the table for 'Brave New World' by rewinding to the MCU's second film. In 2008, 'The Incredible Hulk' (Edward Norton) tangled with General "Thunderbolt Ross" (William Hurt). And in 'Brave New World,' General Ross is now President, and Harrison Ford takes over the role. But this new Ross is still a grump about superheroes doing the job of the U.S. military.
Meanwhile, Thunderbolt's daughter Betty Ross, who was once Bruce Banner's gal, is also back and still played by Liv Tyler, who returns to the MCU for the first time since 2008.
Tim Blake Nelson returns as the scientist with supersmarts, courtesy of Hulk's blood, and with his oversized cranium, he calls himself The Leader.
New Cap will likely clash with the President and the Leader, but he'll have superspy Sabra (Shira Haas) on his side. In the comic books, Sabra is a mutant with superstrength and healing abilities, which could mean the mutants are joining the MCU in upcoming 'Deadpool 3' (2024). Otherwise, Sabra may be receiving the same old Super-Soldier Serum as the original Cap.
Carl Lumbly also reprises his role from "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," where veteran Isaiah Bradley was revealed to be one of America's first supertroops. And Danny Ramirez returns as Joaquin Torres, to whom Sam has passed the mantle of Falcon, just as Steve Rogers bestowed the red, white, and blue shield to Sam.
And 'Brave New World' will likely march right on to 'Thunderbolts,' the MCU's upcoming antihero team-up of Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbour), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko).
