Upa! Una Pandemia Argentina: Lado A (2021)

Comedy

upa! una pandemia argentina - lado A trailer
The universe of Argentine independent cinema. The imposture. The unfulfilled dreams. Confinement, the capability for irony, the skill for comedy and the sagacity of UPA! Una película argentina (2007) are back, renovated, to explore the whims of a microworld still in turmoil. The UPA! gang is back, with isolation and new ways of malevolence and insolence, but also less in the background than up front, if you take a good look at the whole deal of true love for the craft. This twin sister perseveres opportunely in its unique flair for capturing the way of talking of its own world, a small private fiction in which independent cinema ruminates on its misfortune, its instability and its claudications while it gives arm strokes in the current to stay afloat without contemplations, but animated by a feeling of secret mercy that breathes with insistence between one scene and the other. The directors are now more experienced, but they're also wiser, and assume the compromise of exposing everything with a kamikaze smile.
