A regular work day for an Indian-American, a member of the LGBTQ community, and a Trump voter is changed when they find someone has scrawled graffiti on their lunch restaurant. They come together to remove the message of hate themselves with a unique solution.
Working Lunch has been awarded a 2018 Project Grant from the Regional Arts and Cultural Council (racc.org).
Statement by director, Shilpa Sunthankar:
At it's heart Working Lunch is a portrayal of our current U.S. national conflict, in miniature, via a tiny Indian restaurant. It is about the divide between conservative and liberal voters, and putting that aside for the simple decency of drawing a line at hate in our country. It is about bringing communities together again, inclusive of the rich diversity in our country, and taking care of each other, honoring our differences.
