I will preface this review with the fact that I love Seth Rogan, he's about my age, and Superbad came out when I was in college, so I'm a fan of his humor. I find the storyline of show super relatable, and although I found the first couple episodes a bit bland, the last few had me dying of laughter! All the good TV shows as of late have been dramas and serious storylines, and honestly, this show is such a breath of fresh air. I hope Apple TV invests in some more top notch comedies like this one. I also hope Seth Rogan does more acting again! I'm already 5 episodes in, but I hope it's a long season, because I don't want it to end!
Finally a high-quality Netflix show! If you loved Kerri Russell in The Americans, you'll love this one. I personally love any government / spy thrillers and this has that, plus great relationship storylines. I think the show does a good job showing just how much professional demands dominate the lives of government agents, forcing them to have complicated personal relationships. Overall great acting as well, with bits of fun and humor that brings lightheartedness to an otherwise serious theme. The show has a refreshing twist on an otherwise repetitive theme, and I felt like it was very well balanced. Can't wait for season two!!!
I love political action shows so I was excited to see Night Agent released this weekend. Not going to lie, I did binge watch it in 3 days. I felt like the writing could have been a little better, but overall, found it really entertaining and felt like the plots were intriguing. If you like shows like Homeland or Jack Ryan, you'll like the Night Agent. I hope it renews for a second season! I also hope Netflix and other TV show producers create more political action packed shows like this one. I think it's definitely worth watching if you like this genre of shows. I just wish there were more out there like it!
I've watched all the episodes so far and as the plot is unfolding, I'm finding the series more enjoyable. I agree that the first couple episodes were off to a rocky start, but it's definitely getting more interesting now. I personally really enjoy these types of shows, and let's be honest, Apple TV shows beat most Netflix dramas nowadays in terms of production value and acting. I say give the show a chance, get past the first couple more cliche episodes and you may wind up liking it. I think the plot will only continue to unravel and surprise us as more characters reveal who they really are and what side they're playing.
