Very interesting to watch and hear so many people in the industry (most, if not all of who have passed away themselves) talk about Humphrey Bogart..the actor, the sailing enthusiast, the husband, son, the man. No, he didn't have the typical handsome movie star looks..but, there was something about him that made him look handsome. All of his wives were outwardly beautiful, and they saw something in him..so he could get them! I think for me, it was Rick, in Casablanca. The only time he fell apart in that movie was because of Ingrid Bergman..as Elsa. Other than that, he was calm, cool, collected and humorous. This was a nice ...but all too short movie about Bogie.
From the moment it came on...I could tell that it was going to be terrible..and I was right. All of the actors are good in other things..just not this one. There's just such a disconnect from the book, and other movie versions. I'm no real fan of The Great Gatsby, not because of the way it's written, but because of no real love for any of the characters other than Nick..and at times Jordan. As much as I dislike it, so far the 1974 version is my favorite (and I watched it just right before). Mia Farrow is very good as the flaky Daisy, Sam Waterston is also very good as Nick. Robert Redford is the cool, but nervous Gatsby..the others fill the bill greatly.
I always find myself wishing more to have the cottage that Nick is staying in rather than the Mansion that Gatsby lives 6. No, I don't think this one is worth the watch...too stiff.

After watching all of the episodes of 'Modern Love' I gave it an overall 9. There was one that I didn't really care for, the one with Tina Fey. Just didn't really care for the storyline. But, the one's that some people thought were boring and/or terrible storylines, I thought were actually quite good and lovely...yes, some of them did not end how I wanted them to, some I felt ended with at least hope. But, however those that people felt were boring...I don't think that any of them were boring..life, is made up of meaningful moments that don't look rip roaring interesting all of the time... especially to those on the outside, but that's what life is all about..the small moments that still have the utmost meaning to those who are living them. Loved the series.
