Essentially, it's a remake of Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction", picturing wild capitalism of post-perestroika Russia. The plot evolves around lost briefcase full of money. At least two gangs and the cops are hunting for the treasure. The owner is shot and dying. The doctor who treated him is primary suspect and is being hunted by everyone. Looks like a no escape situation, but... everything is going to be OK, and there will be tons of decent black humor.

After World War II, a veteran takes a job as a cop in a remote rural area. Mysterious deaths occur one by one. Some people see a werewolf, and the whole little town is scared to death. Our veteran undertakes a thorough and adventurous investigation, and what do you think? nothing mystical, just greed and power protecting something very valuable hidden in the area. The movie also shows pretty realistic picture of the post war life.

This naive old comedy is a landmark of Russian cinema. The humor is mostly Charlie Chaplin style (cake in the face etc.), however many verbal jokes from this comedy have made it into everyday language. There are three novels in this movie: one about a convict doing community service hand by hand with a student with orthogonal morale, another about college students cheating, and the last one about a trio of junks (the famous Russian comedians Nikulin, Vitsin, and Morgunov) staging a burglary to cover the real one.
