I knew about this resturant after watching CBS Sunday morning, so I was very interested in the back story, which was EXCELLENT in the movie! If I lived in NY, I would definitely make a reservation!! I swear I could smell those great dishes through my television!
Italian families, especially when it comes to FOOD and Nanas' cooking really made me miss my mother! She was a WONDERFUL cook and LOVED serving her chopped liver, chicken soup and all the rest to our family when we went to NY for a visit.
My 3 daughters have carried her recipes into their homes today - for their husbands and 2 kids (each) Knowing this is a REAL story made it all that more entertaining - LOTS of FOOD and LOTS of LOVE coming from that kitchen.

When I saw the trailer for the movie, I was really looking forward to seeing it. I'm a big fan of Ke Huy Quan, but this POS wasn't worth more than 5 minutes of my time!
There is NOTHING positive about this mess as far as plot (was there a plot?) that's been done to DEATH and much better - there is NO chemistry at all between the main characters - or any reaon at ALL explained how a cold blooded killer would "turn his life around" to become a sucessful REAL ESTATE AGENT? Maybe a lawyer, but REAL ESTATE? A job that pretty much ANYONE with $100 to get a license can be - doesn't take a black belt to sell a house!
The entire script could have been written on 3 pages... the number of times Marvin says "I want my "normal" life"... over and over and over.
I guess the gratuitous, graphic violence and blood everywhere will appeal to the audience who enjoys this garbage, but I was totally bored after 5 minutes.
One horrible waste of my precious 5 minutes!

Although there is no such address at 8745 Ulster Heights road, there IS definitely Ulster Heights AND Briggs Highway in Ellenville, my Home Town!
Somebody on that writing staff absolutely knows our little town, at least the mention it in the episode several times - almost made me miss what was home.
In the entire WORLD, there is ONLY ONE town names Ellenville - it's so unique for so many reasons and although I don't recall there ever being dog breeding operations, we did have plenty of CHICKEN farms - and we were once a huge hub of hotels and bungalows for the "borscht belt" summer crowd.
Our family bakery, Cohen's is till in business even though there isn't a single COHEN there anymore - the back where all the "magic" happens is still the same as it was when my father Ruby owned the place.
Thank you LOSVU for this quick trip down memory lane!
