This show is like no other of its kind. The Messiah is portrayed as not just a godly, transcendent man, but as human. Because he actually *was* human. The Chosen makes that feel realer than ever.
While not everything is in exact chronological biblical order, it is portrayed truly right. Everything gives a hint of the impact it had two thousand years ago, that we can hardly imagine.
Great actors, great filming, great storylines, capturing rhythms, palpable emotions, and on top of all of this the show is entirely crowd-funded. They are working on putting it in several languages such as Hindi, Mandarin, Spanish, Aramaic, etc.
Can't wait for season 2!!
This movie is just-
You know that idea that Disney's Frozen popularized, where instead of romantic love being the answer, it's familial love? Pixar just took that idea to a whole new level. The relationships feel real, which makes the emotional scenes have even more impact.
There's some predictability, but the message of this movie is worth it.
You've got sacrifice; sibling bickering; parental involvement; lessons on trust and accepting help; and love. Love story for the ages here.
This show is about Pucca and Garu, who are about twelve years old. The entire show, Pucca harasses Garu and tries to forcefully kiss him against his will. She continually tries to force him to fall in love with her, even creating a love potion on at least one occassion to force this affection. This is not "a crush" or "head over heels in love," this is Pucca being completely and unhealthily obsessed with Garu and harassing him. She is, effectively, Garu's stalker.
What sort of moral is there to this story? Not only does Pucca stalk Garu, she is REWARDED with "Pucca power" for every kiss she steals from him.
This show pushes the idea that if you like someone and they don't return the feeling, you should force them love you and kiss them without consent. Stalking is not something we want to encourage.
It's especially concerning to me that the characters are children, meaning this show is likely aimed towards kids. What is this teaching kids? It's teaching that "no" means "try harder." That is unhealthy. I am very glad this show was discontinued.
