I very rarely fell asleep during movies. I did not expect that from The Final Reckoning. First they talk for one hour, one over another, explaining some very complex AI + IT stuff, mixed with the behavior of a biological organism. Watching the AI's blue "face" talking was even more boring. This is one of those "modern" movies, where writers get some ideas and then try to stitch them together in a make-believe fashion.
That is why the whole movie is full of plot holes. I couldn't care less about any of the characters dying.
The editing is done by some ADHD kid and is very, very choppy. Humor is a bit forced and unnatural. They spend a whole hour explaining and explaining what they are going to do and desperately trying to convince the viewer that they have to absolutely do this complex, illogical plan, just to outsmart an AI which has outsmarted several countries top scientists.
However, the real cinema is supposed to tell a story via showing images. Instead, all the characters take part in a huge convincing effort with a 1 hour of narration.
Action scenes were too long (and I love action!). As if Tom said: "hey, this is my last MI. I have to still prove that I can do it!" In the end, there is no kiss. Just long goodbye scenes, long explanation on how we should live. That's it: The End.

A regular heist film inspired by a real heist story. While acting was good, I found the pacing quite bad. The deep focus on the main character was not needed. A lot of events and character action in the movie look really strange as they lack reasoning whatsoever, but I'll skip them due to spoilers. Let's say I would question how professional the robbers were. While using long one shot takes is beneficial for some scenes, it made the heist scene very confusing. A bunch of masked men shouting and running back and forth. Other than that it was interesting to watch how the criminal mind works in action.
You can easily cut 20 minutes of still frames, workers doing repetitive work and other footage which brings no added value to the documentary. A few seconds of all these is more than enough to set the stage. Other than the slow pace and poor editing, there are short interviews of yogurt ambassadors in Japan which are the valuable parts. Music was interesting, the story was interesting too, but nothing exceptional. I wish they interviewed witnesses of the events described. Although they would be 70-80 years old, but that's the best age to tell stories! It would bring much more life into this documentary.
I loved the ending shot!
