Two very appealing leads make this movie special, this chemistry evident early in the film. Joy learns that her boyfriend will be proposing marriage over Christmas after only a couple of months of dating. He's an anesthesiologist, nice looking, and very practical. She drives up to Vermont to meet his parents and his brother, but she's derailed by a snowstorm and car trouble. Fortunately, a maple farmer picks her up and takes her to the family farm.
Without spilling details, let me just say what anyone watching will already know: that she has a wonderful time with them and learns more truths about herself.
Nothing is forced in this film; it evolves naturally. And it is lovely. Not perfect, but very pleasing.

I've been watching a Christmas movie each night this month, so I've had a lot to compare this to. A Biltmore Christmas was not only great for a Hallmark Christmas film, but it was simply a wonderful film overall!
The acting was excellent, and the chemistry between the leads was magnetic. The storyline requires the viewer to suspend rational belief and just enjoy the plot. And that's exactly what I did. I teared up at this one, something I haven't done since I watched a movie that my dad used to love and get emotional over.
I love the costumes of 1947 and the film sets. Ms. Lenz is delightful in the lead and is well cast with the male lead. Simply a fun, entertaining, and nostalgic movie for a time when our grandparents were young. Best movie I've seen this year!

I've been watching a Christmas movie each night this month, and this is my favorite-easily! I won't go over the plots, but make sure you're paying attention to the characters. The three stories are interconnected; at one point you see the birth of a young adult character in a later time period.
This film was not a rom-com, rather it was a comedic drama with lots of loving relationships. How wonderful that Hallmark portrays a gay couple in this one; they are about to foster a young child.
The movie is very heartwarming and real. I truly loved it. Some teary moments, which you might miss if you're not paying attention. Believe me, it's worth it! Great job, Hallmark!!
