This is one of those movies that is loved by those that are old enough to remember it from their childhood or early teens. I am not young either but I have never seen it. Since I am huge Horror and Zombie-fan I recently purchased the new 4K release of "Zombie". Upon watching it I regret doing so. This movie has almost no redeeming qualities - the zombies look terrible and not scary at all, our 4 main characters couldn't be more bland, the acting is subpar and then the editing - oh my lord the editing! Maybe the longer Romero cut would have been better, but what Argento did on this European version is just atrocious. The cuts are all over the place and totally disrupt the flow of the action. I also don't understand the love for the score by Goblin - if you want to hear strange guitar or Synthesizer sounds with loads of delay and reverb I suggest listening to the soundtrack of the first Planet of the Apes.
Movies like Apocalypse Now or The Godfather still hold up because they have been made with love and care, while this has been surpassed by a LOT of newer Zombie flicks (including the remake, which is the far superior film).
