Seeking Fear

  • Important movie...important message

"Seeking Fear" is one of those movies that stay with you long after the final credits have rolled. And for good reason. With strong performances from Lisa Ray (who plays a cop) and Charlene Fernetz, the female characters in the film are empowered and charismatic. The subtleties of how we react, and ought to react, to fear and danger are effectively interwoven throughout the film. In many ways it's a psychological study of the men who prey on the vulnerabilities of others, in this case women. It's a topic that director Robin Webb seems to have thoroughly done his homework on. And on top of its extremely worthwhile message, there's an entertaining movie here with a twist that leaves the viewer wondering (and hoping) if we'll get to see Lisa Ray reprise her role in the near future. Not the best crime movie ever made...but not making it (or seeing it) definitely would be a crime. Highly recommend it!
