  • Immigration and racism

I really loved the simplicity of the story and the fact that a movie about immigration, and racism as the motive for murder, was actually made. A timely subject as we face the issue of illegal immigration in the USA and the controversy surrounding it. I loved Alpha Acosta and her 'real' Mexican accent as she made her first English-speaking movie. North Roberts is a very convincing corrupt and racist officer- a character I loved to hate! Salvador Pineda is the man! - what a ruthless 'Coyote'. A fresh movie seen from a fresh perspective. If you are looking for a movie that approaches immigration and racism from the point of view of the abused then see this movie- you'll get it. Note: I understand that the distributor has released an upgraded version of the DVD that does feature subtitles in English and Spanish (as originally intended), so get the latest release if possible.
