Oh dear I knew I was up against a slew of dreadful clichés with Dwayne Johnson as the leading man in this sci-fi horror movie but after about the fourth or fifth groaner I couldn't watch any more. Luckily it was on basic cable.
Dwayne Johnson as a primatologist stud who would needs to be told by the zoo nerd that the hot chick is hitting on him but it doesn't matter because he would rather be spending some quality "me time" with his dogs.
Rough and rugged military type Burke who heads the hit squad has the scars of some past encounter so naturally he has a grudge and a score to settle.
Disgraced scientist Kate gets a call that wakes her up out of a sound daytime slumber, lies on the phone as to her whereabouts and then reaches for an array of to-go coffee cups on the counter to see if any still have coffee in them.
And that was only the first twenty minutes.

The cast tries hard and often succeeds to pull off the ponderous premise and the scenarios are fairly entertaining. But let's face it I would watch Rose McIver wait for a bus so I'm in!
