The animation is really great although some of the artists really don't know human anatomy very well. The muscles of some of the characters look out of place especially overly protruding abs but no obliques.
The plot is great. The characters are great. The action is great. The ending keeps you engaged for a second season.
The biggest gripe I have is the phenomenally stupid dialogue where the writers up to date flavor of the month moral understanding of the world is the exact moral understanding that a general artificial intelligence arrives at.
To me there is some insouciant complacence in this kind of writing. The most intelligent AI is supposedly thinking like a 2024 female college student.
The most cringe line was: "I want to be a woman because men always bring war and violence" or something like that.
I still rate this fairly high because this didn't have too much of an impact on the rest of the show but considering how much time the writers spent on it I have to mention it here.
If it hadn't been for that this could have been a 9.
On a side note, the time travel is absolut hooey, terminator was always a prime example of stupid kind of time travel.

This movie is Disrespectful to the catholic faith and history
it garbles history it garbles the sacraments
historical persons are rewritten with a modern agenda in mind
adulterers are portrayed as heroic
murderers as righteous
the crusaders are often shown if overexaggerated monstrous phiz's, the war is portrayed as senseless carnation, pointless bloodshed
the priests are portrayed as incompetent or malignant or both
the leper king is portrayed as a apostate, refusing the sacraments - (Despite the challenges posed by his illness and the internal conflicts within the kingdom, Baldwin IV maintained the independence of Jerusalem and resisted the advances of Saladin. His reign is often seen as a period of decline, but historians have reassessed his leadership, portraying him as a brave and determined monarch who fought against overwhelming odds.)
it's a disgrace
It's hard to find positive words about this movie.
I rate it 1/10 for the severe affront it is.
And it certainly doesn't hold up well for being from 2005 when it comes to effects and optics.

All good cinema deals with two things:
1) love 2) death
this show is called Death's Game and it's a story about love as much as it is death
No political agenda.
No plot holes.
No foul language pervading the entire dialogue.
No unreasonable casting choices.
Just a really good plot, executed flawlessly. The writing is so on point it feels like this has been crafted by a bunch of dedicated writers to prove to their students, that one can take a bunch of genres and mix them together and outdo all the works in these respective genres all at once.
A young man commits suicide and then faces something akin purgatory. A story told through multiple lead characters that all are the same person.
The violence is pushing it but I have long overdone it and lost my sensitivity to it. It cuts away in the most nasty scenes.
The series is called Death's Game. I find this name unfortunate. This flick gives hope. It makes one happy to be alive. Grateful. We need more that do that.
