Universal has made some of the greatest "Monster" flicks in history, with some of them transcending the genre into the realm of being real landmark cinema. The original Frankenstein, Dracula and Invisible man cast a net far beyond the original "Shocker" premise.
Monster on campus seems to be cut from a lot of that same cloth, as by now the studio had the formula down firmly. Perhaps that's the problem. This is a somewhat by the numbers movie that uses an interesting cast of characters and a somewhat original formula. While this is a great drive in movie it never comes close to the level of involvement of the previously mentioned movies.
