  • Ignore the low rating. This is excellent

This is beautifully shot. The story has some interesting takes on the apocalypse story but the apocalypse is just the back drop for a tragic love story. This was worth every minute. It is a slow burn because it needs to be.

The story makes me feel exactly how it should. It was beautiful and bleak. I could feel that time had passed and solitude was the norm. The characters were believable and the exchanges and dialogue felt very real.

I was familiar with the director's other work but this is, by far, the best. I will watch this again. This is the kind of storytelling that I need with these types of films.

  • Weird for the sake of being Weird

This movie is just an abstract mess. I am sure the intent is to be deep and have some sort of message I guess you can just make up whatever you want it to mean to you. It is visually pleasing and the acting is fine. It goes nowhere though. I watched until the end because I give everything a chance. This was a huge disappointment. If you want to watch something weird...watch Beau is Afraid. This one was NOT for me. I watched interviews with the writer prior to the movie because I heard it was weird. It just feels like it is self indulgent riffing. I see why this went straight to VOD. Sadly I should have skipped this one.

  • Failure is not an option

I think fair reviews rate movies in the context of movies in the same genre of equivalent backing. So comparing this to a science fiction movie from a big studio and budget is unfair. This movie has excellent cinematography. The concept and idea of this film is excellent and the reveal is worth the wait. The criticism is I think it is slowly paced. I think a faster pace and extended scenes to fill in sone more detail would have really made this movie shine. At the conclusion I wanted to know more. Perhaps sone more explanation in the end to give sone of the earlier parts more detail. It is worth the watch.

  • Keeps you guessing

Often reviewers judge a movie based on an unrealistic standard set by large budget films. I think it is fair to judge a film based on the context in which it was made. Give this film a chance. It is an original idea and it is this that should be the standard by which this film is judged. Focusing on the films limitations takes away from the intent of this independent film maker. This was beautifully shot and clever. One might call it a slow burn. I enjoyed this film. At some point you may suspect what is happening (or it least I noticed it had a certain "feel" to it.) in this case, my suspicion was confirmed and revealed to me one of the twists in the story.

  • Cool idea. A fair review in context

You have to review these movies in context. This is low budget and English is not their first language. So you have to look past the awkward dialogue. The locations are creepy and the concept here is very cool. I am a fan of horror but there is not a lot of material in the genre. You have to take the good in all levels of production and this is a good one to me. It does not make sense to compare this to something Hereditary because it would fail in comparison. However, the story is what matters.

If you only like polished high budget horror then this is not for you. If you like atmosphere and story green give it a try. This is an 8 among movies in this budget category.

  • Well written, well acted

This movie is excellent. I assume any of the low ratings are from those that lack depth or can't create an unbiased review based on the genre of a movie. Don't believe the negative reviews. The movie is paced how it should be for this story. I enjoyed every minute.

  • Teen horror Show delivers generic tale

Production value is good. Acting is decent. If you have nothing better to watch it is decent enough to pass the time. It is the kind of movie you can mildly enjoy while simultaneously looking for something else to watch on your phone.

  • Painfully brilliant

This is brilliant. Any low ratings must be from those that lack the depth to grasp what is being told here on several levels. It is horror in every sense of the word.

  • Great low budget concept

I have watched this several times. It is not a great horror movie but the dialogue is charming. It has its flaws but it is a very cool concept. Yes it is a B-movie but it is a awesome B-movie.

  • This is a good watch

This movie is a slow burn but well acted, clever and well shot. The problem with user reviews on horror films is most are not from people that regularly watch horror films. This is a decent movie but if you think gore, special affects, and gratuitous violence makes for a great horror flick this one is not for you. This is not overly original but it is much better than the average rating is.

  • Decent watch

This is much better than some user reviews suggest. If you enjoy horror you will enjoy this. There is nothing particularly original but it is entertaining, well dubbed, and atmospheric. In general, horror movies have poor ratings in general on here but this is not as bad as the average suggests.

  • I tried my best to watch this...

This showed up on Shudder so I checked IMDB and it said 6.9. Wow. Must be decent. NOPE. I was waiting for the movie to "start" but it never really did. I cringed through as many scenes as I could. I could not even get through this entire film. Clearly the rating is inflated by fake reviews. This one is a real stinker

  • It's not that bad. Give it a watch

I am not sure why there are such hateful reviews of this movie. A movie like this is meant for entertainment. It is not meant to be some amazing blockbuster or work of cinematic art. It takes a bunch of common themes from these kinds of movies (yes movies are often just the same set of ideas over and over again) and it is entertaining. The acting is adequate, the special affects are not terrible, and the story is interesting even though it is predictable. The average science fiction fan will very likely enjoy this. Ignore the hate. The movie is just fine.
