I'm gonna keep this short and sweet.. After binge watching House of Cards - I was searching the streets... literally billboards and MTA Bus Stop Posters.. for my next Binge IV Drip "fix" and I saw Bloodline.. the tag line intrigued me because in real life, Good People sometimes do Bad Things.. so I tapped a vein and went for it... and this is where I stop to say.. Trust me!!! Bloodline is extremely top of the line true Blue.. 99.999% pure; you know.. like the stuff Walter White used to make before his season was over.. I couldn't stop watching.. I did all 13 in 24. I highly recommend it and I am looking forward to Season Two because the Cliff Hanger almost sent me to the ER... but my insurance is for poo and my co-pay is too high.. so I'm currently going cold turkey off the 13's. Gonna take up hiking and juicing for a spell. xo
I just finished watching this movie IMAGINE ME & YOU and as an indie filmmaker and screenwriter - I was taken aback. I had no complaints except that it left me wanting more. More More More! Such a good feeling and unconventional feeling but a good one... Yet everything is how it should have been. Excuse me for rambling but again I just finished watching it and came right to my computer to vent! I watched the Q & A with the director and cast after and saw that maybe test audiences wanted to see more "screen time" between the two leads but no... in a movie like this it's the responsibility of the director and editor to pace it correctly ... it's a comedy - so timing and pace is everything. Such a heart wrenching romantic love story. And it felt so complete. Nothing cookie cutter and all happily ever after, nothing standard and conventional.
But this was not a gay story as some friends would have had me think. It wasn't that at all, this movie could have starred different, races, genders even a different planet; the rules of love and romance are universal. This was a perfectly written and directed movie.
Perfectly cast'd ESPECIALLY Boo? The little girl that played (Jesus) H. (Christ)... classic line so very clever - She was wonderful. I truly hope to see more from this Writer/Director because his vision was refreshingly real and the dialogue was real speak - true to life - here or abroad - He just got it. He gets it.
I highly recommend this film be watched completely sober and with someone who isn't chatty and actually loves good cinema - because the writing is fantastic; the acting doesn't seem like acting its so real, and you don't want to miss one tiny morsel of this clever, witty beautiful film.

Today we were told that our short film - Near Mrs. - received Audience Choice for Best Short Film at the Twin Cities Black Film Festival this weekend past (8/20/06)! This is the first Award for our Film this year. Near Mrs. has screened in 5 Festivals in 2006. Near Mrs. will Air in 2006 BET J's "The Best Shorts"; so stay tuned.
Audience choice is very important to us because Near Mrs. is an "everywomen" and "everyman" story told from a sweet yet wry point of view intended to stir up memories, touch hearts and ignite dialogue.
Thank you Minneapolis!!!!
