This was way and about better than I thought it was going to be. Yes it was a teenage opera in space, but the similarities with the original Alien are very much there. Strong female character acting way beyond their years and capabilities. Having the loyalty of an android companion when all the male characters have been killed off.
It's not surprising that the aliens mature quickly, we have seen this before in every Alien film and this isn't surprising.
Every signature line of dialogue is used in a slightly different way. The film is a joy to watch, take it from someone who's nearly 70 and who's watched every single film of the series over the past few decades. It's a refreshing take and the inclusion of Bishop was interesting. Much better than the Michael Fassbendender debacle.
