I saw this movie on a streaming app and passed it by a few months ago, now decided to give it a watch. I can't say I loved it, but I wasn't disappointed either. I found this film entertaining and it was able to keep my attention for the whole film, a task that is rarely done with most of the movies I see nowadays. While the plot is not new, and this film does have its cliches there still was something there that kept me interested.
Cons: a basic escape/ survival story, while not really overdone, this film doesn't bring anything new to the screen. It definitely had some predictable moments, the ending especially, but it still kept me interested even though I could guess what was going to happen next. I go back a forth on this, I kind of wish there was more dialogue between the many leads, but at the same time I'm fine with it because it gives it a more authentic feel that isn't saturated in exposition.
Pros: the acting was good, it is hard when you have child actors, but they really had some good direction. The scenery was amazing, in an age of CGI and special effects it is refreshing to watch a film with real (beautiful) locals and practical effects. Decent story, it knew when to build tension and when to let you breathe.
I can't say that I would recommend it but I can't say I wouldn't either. I found it enjoyable and entertaining, and while it's nothing special I didn't feel like I had just wasted my time watching it. So, if you're looking for something different I think it's worth checking out.

I've been putting off seeing this because it seemed like a cheap cash grab on Olympics Has Fallen. And wow! I'm 10 minutes in the film and I want to watch it with an open mind, but boy does Tom Getty makes it really hard. First off, you cast yourself as the lead and direct the film? That is a big red flag unless you've has years of experience on either end of the camera, and then it's not always a good idea! The dialogue is forced, the effects are just as bad as a high schooler making a file with his friends on youtube with photoshop, the plot seemed interesting but the execution just ruined it. This is another film where the writers hoped on Google for acronyms that military and law enforcement use and picked the ones they thought sounded cool. Everyone is now dumber for watching this film. I award it no stars, and may God have mercy on Tom Gettys soul.
