I do not even know where to begin. This was my first Chinese drama and it did not disappoint. The writing was phenomenal. The acting was superb. Each characters' story was beautifully told and I cried, laughed, got angry, and cheered for them. The main characters complex relationship and their story of discovering love and healing in spite of so many obstacles made this a true love story.
While this was a story betrayal and redemption, this was also a story of love, loss, hope, and new beginnings. I watched all 36 episodes twice because at times I felt I missed something or didn't understand the complexity of the situation. This is one of those timeless Chinese dramas, you'll always come back to rewatch again and again. My only recommendation would be that the subtitles often times didn't translate well the first time but the second time I watched the episode, it seemed to offer a more true translation of the situation.

Ok so I have to say of all the KDramas I've watched, this one has one of the best ebbs and flows in the story arc. I absolutely love how the male lead actor fits into this role and wins the lead females heart. He truly shows a very different level of the typical male lead. He shows all the good things required in a true masculine role-service oriented, protector, and encourager for his love interest. Perseverance. Patience. Understanding. One of the most refreshing aspects is that there is no stupid plot twist that takes the story on useless journey to nowhere only to come back to a happy ending-like 99% of KDramas do. There were challenges for the couple to come together but it was portrayed in a realistic way to the audience.
