Acting and directing are great!
I did not think some of the changes were for the better. They made all the characters worse; I don't want to give spoilers so if you are interested look up the crimes in the original. In this series, the crimes are all much more horrible in both how they are committed and the motivations. This makes the characters less interesting, less grey and changes the discussion on morality and the themes. Another change is the ending which I did not think was for the better. In the original, after all is done, we are left puzzled and wondering WTH is going on. In this series, there is no space for this.

Good atmosphere and humor that led me to watch until the end.
The writing and plot though are beyond terrible: . Wednesday is more angry than stoic, and tries hard to prove herself all the time. And it is beyond annoying how popular she is, everyone wants to date her, be her friend or nemesis . The characters are nothing but a check off box teen cliche . The teen drama situations are very artificial and forced . The villain reveals are very cheap, due to visions and luck, no pay off from planning or investigation . Inconsistent powers. Wednesday is shown with incredible ability and martial arts skills, single handedly defeating multiple opponents more than once. Then when the plot requires it she just faints with one avoidable blow, or is just carried around with no resistance. Also she is portrayed as smart and planning ahead but when the plot requires it she (and others) just act stupid . Lazy writing. For example, a character obeying its "master" rather than having to come up with real motivations and development . Wednesday and the villain both have simple and stupid plans. Writers should have come up with some plan for the finale, or at least have Wednesday try to do a plan and order the students around but they refuse to join . Enemies are weak, and inconsistently so. In the last episodes, it only takes one student to easily defeat each enemy, and in less than 5 minutes. School is inhabited by hundreds of vampires, werewolves and other monsters, and did I say sirens who can make people obey them with their voices?
. very uninspired and unoriginal, imagine every adolescent cliche and copy paste characters, and terrible romance . They took away the Addams family dynamics and support and replaced them with artificial drama
Good atmosphere but terrible writing gives low pay-off. I don't understand how this writing was approved since just a few edits (see above) would have made the show so much better.

Finally a dating reality show with adult, mature people that tackles important life themes such as loss and fear of vulnerability in a sensitive and practical way. I've learned a lot while watching and got inspired to be brave in my social life as well
