This movie kind of reminds me of a joke:
A hitchhiker says, " I'm surprised you picked me up. I could've been a serial killer." The driver responded, "The chance of two serial killers being in the same car is astronomical."
I think most people don't get that this movie is a "Joke's on you" sort of flick. It's so much more than a revenge movie. The creative cake-making package-loving wannabe surgeon Miranda isn't having a bad day-she's just being herself and the oh so stupid bad guy just gets outdone. My mom used to say to us kids, "You kids need to read your Bible!" We did and still do. Miranda thought, didn't read her Bible. If she had, she'd know that God says "Vengeance is Mine." Seriously though, "Read your Bible." In it is the power of life over death.

I'm not a BLMer or someone who sees race behind every corner but Roma has done it again. Some years ago Roma Downey got into a little bit of trouble with her casting in the series The Bible. By and large, the bad people were dark skinned and the good people were white. So it is not surprising in The Baxters that the problem husband is black, leaving room for a white good guy to save the day. It's hurtful and disappointing but not surprising. I think little Roma has an issue with black men. It happens. After watching two and a half episodes, I realized that the show a bit too predictable to be my cup of tea.
I like this show but it was a bit nerve-racking to watch because of not knowing what's next, which is part of the fun. Granted, he knows more about what's coming up than he lets on but I'm just watching it as a consumer I was a little stressed out, especially in the dense forest. He is quite the adventurer though, and really does some amazing and often crazy feats. I was surprised at some of the negative comments. All adventure shows are heavily produced. Of course he's not as alone as it seems of course because there is a crew there. But how can you not marvel at his adventurous spirit, his skills and the breathtaking scenery?! I gave it an 8/10 because he does complain a little much for my tastes.
