I was excited to watch De Niro and Pfeiffer, however the movie was really empty. I cannot believe this super star cast had made such a mistake...

I didn't have expectations like watching another Godfather... however the story and plot was so empty, the characters had no satisfactory background... how Giovanni M. when he ruled the mafia clan, who was the old guy in the prison? what did Giovanni do to him? We know Giovanni M. has given the names of the guys in the clan to the FBI, but why? How unstable is Belle? how did Warren get so well in forging? What are the real names of others than Giovanni?

Maybe a second movie has a chance to right it all. till then, do not expect more than what you've already seen in the trailer...

First of all, as in the other movie of Giritlioglu "Salkım Hanımın Taneleri", this movie's focus was balanced between the life of the main character Behcet and the historical events of 6-7 September 1955. When I first saw the trailer, I thought that the movie was going to be as good as the Turkish series "Hatırla Sevgili" which included more elements of history. But Guz Sancisi has a more micro focus and it shows the effects of the events on Behcet's life. A macro focus with a more detailed history would have been more interesting. Well someone could argue that this is the function of documentary. However I think that this kind of movies should not be shading the history element by using the love element. And the character Behcet seemed to me, that it was taken from another movie: his weakness, his obedience, his incapability to save his friends... Anyway, I had dreamed of more of the subject

About the performance of the actors, I would like to say that it was very good. Turkish actors and actresses successfully performs their characters. I congratulate them for such a nice show. And the screening was beautiful, the streets of Pera were amazing. The sound might have been better, I quite didn't understand what Elena said until the end of her sentence when she was speaking to Behcet. Anyway, overall the movie deserves a nice 7:)

The movies impressively shows what is sacrifice in Turkish history. Since I have cried during the movie and still crying I can not write no more than this. But some Turks should learn some lessons from the movie. Independence came with its price and this should be respected. We should honor what these 120 kids and other Heroes of the Independence war had done. If those kids would have seen what they had fought for, they should be proud but not regret. Also I think the movie included some objective comments on both sides of the war. I agree that actors could have devoted themselves more into their roles but still the movies reached its goal.
