Been eager to watch this show since it's initial release but forgot about it until now. The first episode has som GREAT moments but those great moments get wasted because of the weird pacing. The story focuses on a couple different stories, which I love in shows, but the short segments from each story was so short at times it just felt unnecessary to put it in between two longer segments. For example the starlight introduction. I get why it was necessary to introduce her but it shouldn't have been it's own segment but the start of the first longer segment with starlight.
The thing I loved about the original tiger king was it structure. Everything was in chronological order and it really felt like you were driven into this madness. Now it's literally just a basic crime documentary.
This episode brings lots of new info and is very interesting. I really liked it, couldn't stop watching. My only problem would be that sometimes it got a bit boring when Sophie was completely quiet and nothing really happened in the game. Most of the time something happened creepy happened and those scenes were extremely entertaining.
