I am very unbiased when it comes to movie reviews, and I typically try to see the good in movies, but this movie just did not connect with me. I love horror movies, but I don't know what in the world this is. The plot follows a group of porn producers and actresses trying to become stars. They rent a cabin on an old man's farmland, and they are caught in the act, resulting in violent acts. That sounds great, sounds like all the making for a good/great horror movie. The plot twist in this is ridiculous, and not in a good way. My wife and I literally looked at each other and laughed. By the end of the movie, it was the first time I have ever felt and audibly said that the movie was a waste of my time. I see everyone saying how great it was, and because of this I gave it a second view, and I can say with 100% confidence that this is the worst movie I've ever seen, and I watched Cats.
Old is an original movie based off a book, seems familiar right. Now I for one haven't read the book so I cannot compare the two. Old follows a family that goes on a vacation and is escorted to a beautiful beach, and for whatever reason everyone begins to age rapidly. Thats all I can say about the plot spoiler free. Now the acting in the movie leaves a lot to be desired, and the movie's runtime is excessive, but the movie overall is a fun watch. In a world of excessive sequels and remakes, Old delivers an original, interesting, and mentally terrifying movie concept. It's not a movie with much replay value, but it's a good movie night with your loved one.
Let's start this off by saying this is not a bad MCU movie, but it's also not a good one. Jonathan Majors was phenomenal as Kang, the visual effects were visually stunning (most of the time), and Cassie was a surprisingly interesting character. Where this movie lacks for me, its plot and pacing, also the ending, but this is a spoiler free review. The plot isn't that interesting, so it fails to grab the viewers undivided attention. The pacing is jumbled and some of it felt forced, movie had no business being 2 hours long. In all honesty it felt unfinished, but yet this movie is incredibly important to the future of the MCU, so therefore it is a must see. As a standalone Ant-man, it's the best one. As a MCU movie following movies such as Spider-man No Way Home and Doctor Strange's Multiverse of Madness, this movie falls incredibly short. Also, did i mention how disappointing the ending was?!
