Shortly after i left my college, a beloved professor was murdered , i think by stabbing, maybe gunshots, was killed by their son. I won't post his name. This professor , German teacher, always greeted students with a smile and friendly greeting, beloved by all, students and staff. Something happened, the son murdered both parents. He was incarcerated. The only thing i could learn from this tragedy was that he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Spent time in who knows what king of incarceration. But is out now, living life, doesn't want attention to what he did. I tried to research this young man's sentence and ultimate outcome. It was a severe tragedy on the college campus. I remember him as a kind of ghost presence, not interacting socially. I didn't know him at all, but the loss of his das, a lovely presence on campus was a tragic loss.
I have read, watched, documentaries about the Mitford sisters. I actually subscribed to BritBox to watch this. Into episode 2, I'm weary and disinterested. The people, sisters, portrayed, none of them elicit any interest. Yes, it was a time of aristocracy machinations and intrigue, far removed from modern society, i realize. But as portrayed in this series, none are interesting, intriguing, or elicit sympathy or interest. Just a bunch of aspiring rich girls experimenting with controversial social norms. Nobody cares. Really just spoiled brats rebelling in rebellion at the time. Britbox thought they were being clever.
This series is so hard to watch. I had watched itvwhen it was originally aired. Now, it seems even more relevant. First of all, how did a college dropout, fired from a teaching job for inappropriate contact with female students, EVER manage to elevate himselfe to millionaire/billionnaire with such control and influence.
The victims' trauma and reluctant statements are heartbreaking. Recruiting young girls in financially unstable, not to mention dysfunctional homes, should have been enough to convict him for life.
I'm just mystified how the Trump administration has gaslighted about the Epstein "files/lists." What a debacle for the Trump administration. And i say that having voted for Trump three times. People calling for Pam Bondi's firing seem to be ignoring that Trump is her boss. She's following orders. That after she said there were "thousands" of videos of young victims that they want to ignore. The girls weren't alone!
