  • An unspoken plagiarism

Although the initial synopsis sounded intresting on a psychological level, the movie very quickly showed lack of character depth and back-up stories as well as stereotypes : the two main sister characters are just very caricatural in their exhuberant&successful VS introvert&envious dynamic. There are huge narrative ellipses that make it quite hard to give credit to the development of the storyline. And last but not least, this movie borrows a great deal from "Always Shine", a 2016 movie directed by Sophia Takal and starring Caitlin Fitzgerald. So it definitely feels like a "deja vu".

  • A promising yet overall disappointing series...

I must say I have been all the more disappointed that I expected a lot from this series which started so strong: great cast, great characters, great story, costumes, scenery etc. Frankly episode 1 cut my breathe short from beginning to end. But as I got through the episodes of season 1, it completly failed to fulfill the expectations it had set for itself. It was so as if the plot was loosening up as it went, including incoherences and easy story twists. The end of the season falls totally short on all aspects. Yet, it showed so much promises...
