In my opinion: this movie was outstanding. The visuals blew my mind, to the point where I had to adjust to them at the beginning. There was not a single scene that I didn't find riveting; the time just flew by. So many emotional scenes. I almost cried! I found Sigourney Weaver's performance utterly transcendent - give her an Oscar please!!! All of the acting was super and hers was phenomenal. The movie is, as I said, on another level, beyond my expectations and I will highly recommend to everyone to go and see it. I'm so excited for Avatar 3, 4 and 5. And new movie legacy hopefully.
The music was also great and I think that really added to the ambience. I loved the water theme too. So brilliant.

I was excited for this movie. I love a christmas movie and a musical so the fact that both would be combined sounded amazing. But I feel that the music wasn't very good. None of the songs felt emotional or left an impact on me personally. The three main stars were good and the movie's saving feature, in my opinion. It felt a little long and the plot wandered before getting to the main point. Overall, I feel this movie could have been so much more but it was ultimately quite forgettable. On the other hand, it isn't the worst Christmas movie I've seen by any means and does have some entertaining moments, which makes me feel like it's not a waste of time to watch. In sum: it's okay, but a little bit of a let down.
This movie is slow to begin with, but it's so, so meaningful and worth the watch. It's amazingly made - stunning visuals, great writing and directly. But most of all, the performances. Jennifer Lawrence is outstanding throughout. She really deserves an Oscar for this. I loved it. It really reflects trauma and the ongoing recovery in such a perfect and meaningful way. I loved how they didn't make drama just for the sake of it, whereas every scene has a purpose. The decision to make it all in the present day really added to this. It's a quiet movie, but it says so much. It also represents a wide range of people too. Super!
