WOW!!...this is the first word that comes to mind....followed by ...amazing! I don't know if Devil Dogs will be a commercial success, but as an artistic creation it really impressed me. The film is a stop action flick, and the attention to detail and the effort that went into the production of Devil dogs shows tremendous effort and love of craft. The process by which this movie was created must have been painstaking, and the post production effects are, for lack of a better word...VERY COOL! If you enjoy indie films for their originality and unique creative ideas,...I fully encourage you to watch this movie. If an award for most creative is ever awarded, then this movie would be one of the nominees. If you like "Dr. Who", this movie may be for you! If Michelangelo was alive today and making low budget independent films...this is what it would look like!
Belly Timber is scattered with true historical facts; Scottish folklore and ancient myths. I have watched it a couple of times, and found it to be entertaining and interesting. Some of the acting is sub-par; but the lead actors all did a nice job; and it does have John Dugan ( Texas Chainsaw Massacre ). The soundtrack is a contrast to the movie and the song at the ending credits is an awesome tune.
I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys horror movies with a twist!
