41 is by far the gold standard of the microbudget/low budget indie genre which is saying a lot because I have been a fan of the genre for many years. I have seen virtually everything from 42K, Five Shells, Temporary Spirits to Finding Steve Phoenix and this is the best, in my view.
That said, if you're expecting a white bread, star-studded bland mainstream movie-don't even bother. Just walk away and go see the latest Marvel thriller and enjoy the predictable corporate mindlessness-
If you're like me, however, and seek out original, imaginative films by truly independent artists, this is by far the leader. The pacing and directing are flawless and there are no serious plot holes typical of self written/directed low budget indies.
If you're into alternative realities and infinite possibilities this is the well-written, compelling storytelling for you.

Temporary Spirits is a film you'll want to see again and again if you are a true fan of this genre. Sharpe always tells an imaginative, compelling story and this is no exception.
However, if you're a white-bread, huge budget, mainstream drivel fan- don't waste your time. Temporary Spirits is far too imaginative for you.
But if you respect the immense amount of talent that producing a film with this budget takes-then Temporary Spirits is for you.

How Keith Singleton got the talent he did for this film on the budget he was working with is beyond me. It is a true classic of this genre. The iconic Bill Frenzer singing a reprisal of his legendary "Dead Puppies" is simply a bonus!
Now, if you're a white-bread film fan expecting huge budget mainstream stupidity- don't even bother. This is far too imaginative for you-
But if you love and respect the immense talent that goes into films of this genre, then you'll fully appreciate The Fergusons. Singleton bats it out of the park!
