  • Outstanding Crime Thriller

I recently watched this again after seeing 10 years ago and I enjoyed it even more.

This is an absolute must for those of us that love a dark crime thriller. I feel they don't seem to be able to make these films of any quality anymore.

Jake G is outstanding for me but everyone does there jobs fantastically and it is hard not to commend Paul Dano playing a very difficult part.

Be warned, the film is quite disturbing and reminds you, that there are some really evil, sick and twisted people out there walking in our shadows.

    Great storyline/plot although difficult subject.

    Fantastic cinematography and pace

I only wish there were more like this. Well there are, just not many o can think of in the last couple of decades.

  • Seems rushed, but still an epic

I agree with most of the comments regarding infactual sub stories within the film and how the film seems a bit rushed. I specifically agree with, it would have been so much better to have made this into a 10 part series, as there is so much to cover/tell about this story.

All that aside, the battle scenes are mesmerising in most part and a reminder of how gruesome battle was in the Napoleonic wars and All wars for that matter.

Again, I agree with the comments about, how fantastic the trailers looked, the whole film doesn't quite deliver but that can be said of most films?

Well worth the watch but could have been so much better for sure!

  • Gritty Fly on the wall LA Cop Movie

I love this film, thought provoking and a chance to feel like you are actually there with them on patrol.

Yes, the filming style is shaky and can be annoying at times, but that is what they are trying to create surely.

Reminds, me a lot of Training Day, another superb film of the same genre.

Jake G is brilliant in this, defo one of his top acting roles for sure.

There is so much to like about this film and really don't understand any of the negative comments, but each to their own and that makes the world go round I guess.

At the end of the day, if you are looking for a gritty LA Cop drama, gangs, violence, thoughtful, clever, visually stunning, then look no further.
