Judge Judy is wildly entertaining and whenever I'm home I make it a habbit to watch it every afternoon at 3 or if I miss it I'll watch it at 6 on the other feed. Sheindlin is actually a fair judge and her antics and hilarious which explains her 10 million views daily. The show is always in the top 3 for daytime ratings and had been for years. How couldn't you love this show? Also love the crowd reactions, bailiff P. Hawkins-byrd and the late announcer Jerry Bishop. Always laugh when this show is on 10/10
I think all of us wanted to move on up to east side with George and Louise after seeing just one episode. The first time a saw an episode I died of laughter without even knowing who the characters where. They were funny from the beginning on All in the family and I commend norman Lear for capitalizing on the success of all in the family and the characters by creating memorable spinoffs such as this (which is arguably the best one). Portraying an affluent and hard-working black family and a biracial marriage is apart of what made this sitcom ground-breaking . Add to that a British neighbour, smart mouth maid and wise cracking mom and you have the perfect show! The only bad thing about it is that they never got the finale they deserved after 11 successful seasons. I also wondered why they got so many nominations for acting but never once got a nomination for comedy series (even after being the most watched sitcom in the early 80s). Anyway great show!!
I love 227, being a teenager, I was introduced to it in syndication a few years back and fell in love with it and watched it weeknights alongside Different Strokes and Amen. It's one of the best 80s sitcoms and highly underrated. A wonderful cast especially Jackee, she 100% deserved that emmy. It jumped the shark, however around season 4 when Counters Vaughn's character was introduced (while I liked her you could tell that the show was declining). After the departure of Jackee it took a huge dive then left the airways a year later, but it still was good enough to watch.
