I don't normally review films but ye gods, this film (?) really moved me. I'll keep it brief. Also, I've had a few beers and I'm watching it on my father-in-law's TV without subtitles for the Chinese bits and it has that image smoothing thing on I think. That or the CGI really is this howling.
Ben Wheatley - great director. What is he doing here? The first half's all in a dark little room/submarine? People just talking at screens. And then they finally go above surface and it's like a toddler's fever dream of a shark film. And not in a good way. At least the second half's semi-fun though.
Isn't the cinematographer meant to be good? It's lit like an episode of Storage Wars. Looks like the budget was $8000, tops. And/or Warners have just given up.
Enjoy!

Warm, bit rough around the edges, p*ss-taking, just like that band it's about. A proper documentary that weaves facts, half-truths and a bit of welcome over-reaching of ideas
