The actor who plays DC Norman Potting is my favourite character. Have served in the police for 30 years, I think I have worked with him. His look, attitude and sarcastic style is well observed.
Of course the main characters are up to the standard you would expect, but I did find some acting, eg Cassie Klein, a bit wooden.
That said, this is a great series, good plots and worthy of a watch. Personally, I am really looking forward to series 5 as this is a couple of hours per episode and it is a good bit of escapism.
I know people have complained that it sets Brighton in a Bad light, but the views you get of the city and particularly the two piers are very well shot.

Great stuff. Suspend belief for a while and tune into Gary Oldman and his disgusting socks with a believable crew as they are put out to grass. I have only seen series 1 but hope that they are able to carry on with this type of storyline for the next two.
The rest of his crew are also great in their own roles, and add to the twists and turns of this spy thriller.
There is quite a bit of action from armed teams and some shooting but it is nothing like the gun toting, shoot 'em up and chase them films from across the pond. The plot needs to be followed and the dialogue listened to, but your attention would be well rewarded,
