The trailer for this film was fantastic. It had me hooked from the beginning. I walked in expecting a dark, disturbing thriller. This is not what I expected. The format of storytelling with multiple points of view is very unique, intricate, and original. I thought it worked very well. Some of the scenes of terror and the jump scares were well done. There are just a few too many loose ends that were left without any resolution or exposition to make this an all-time classic. Also, the tone was very odd as just when you thought things were getting deep and disturbing, you would find a humorous moment that would make you chuckle. Finally, the choice of music Was very offputting. In moments where the tension needed to build the director resorted to music that was light and almost popular at times. Don't get me wrong, this was very entertaining and a very original take on the horror genre. However, with a little tweaking, this could've been a masterpiece.

So let's be completely honest. This movie was a dumpster fire on top of a train wreck on top of an utter disaster. It was poorly written, poorly shot, and poorly directed. The concept is actually quite interesting and funny, but the execution was just plain terrible. Some of the scenes were very difficult to see due to the way they were shot. And why would you just put a mask of the characters in question on big overweight men instead of actually developing the costume and character a little? All that being said, this was never going to be a good movie, and I knew that going into it. It was so bad, it was kind of entertaining which gives it as a higher rating as I gave it.

This is one of those rare movies and even rarer horror movies that actually makes you sit back and ponder and reflect over it long after the movie is done. Simply a brilliant piece of film making. The first half is tremendous and one of the strongest hours of movie making I've seen in a very long time. The movie does fall a little flat in the second half, but the bar set by the first hour is Almost insurmountable. Suspenseful, tense, and more than that it was a reflective and thought-provoking piece of film Work. How often do you hear that about a movie that also can make your heart race and your goosebumps rise? Hugh Grant is shockingly good in his role. A fantastic film that I would definitely watch a second time and one of the best movies I've seen this year.
