  • Fantastic Horror Short in the tradition of a segment from 1972 The Tales From the Crypt or a an

Wow, I saw this at the private screening Premiere, I think in 2000. This is a great film for fans of anything by Hammer, Amicus, Tales From the Crypt etc. It is a cool short Horror film starring Ingrid Pitt (Vampire Lovers, Countess Dracula), Janina Faye (Never Take Candy from A Stranger, Hammers Dracula) and Robin Parkinson (Twisted Nerve by the Boulting Brothers, They Came From Beyond Space). It is about a mysterious old lady named Mrs Bowen (played by Ingrid Pitt), who has a creepy way of growing ANYTHING in her garden. Sam the gardener (Robin Parkinson) and Nurse Foley (Janina Faye), soon come to realise "there is a lot we don't know about Mrs Bowen" as strange things begin to happen.

Can't give too much away, it is only 20 minutes and I don't want to give too much away in case you ever get to see this great little treat. Let's just say, it is shot with great visual style, atmosphere and just the right amount of blood by British director Paul Cotgrove who I know to be a huge fan of the Hammer Genre, and his influences are apparent throughout. Very moody and atmospheric with music composed by the late and dearly missed James Bernard (The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires, The Devil Rides Out etc). This is a treat, and I suggest you track it down. There were rumours it was being released in the UK very soon on DVD. This would be fantastic!!

This is one of those films/episodes of classic horror you may see as a child, and it will haunt you forever!!

    AWESOME!
