  • Sandler's awful acting kills movie; Trailer is all there is to movie. Just see that.

Click tells a story of a man who works hard for his family but doesn't always get due returns and so he's frustrated. Then a remote control lets him fast forward some of the tough moments or take it out on his jerk boss (David Hasselhoff), etc. Plot is good, supporting cast is EXCELLENT. Adam Sandler is just not good enough of an actor to play his character. For example, there's a scene where Adam Sandler comes home with disappointing news. Sandler's character appears as a jerk and a whiny loser to his family because his angry rants have no other feelings due to poor acting. You're more annoyed than cheering him. This happens through all of Sandler's scenes and this spoils the movie. A skilled actor would have offered more emotions of dedication or care for his family or even humor during the sad scenes if he's real good like Robert Downey Jr. You would have better understood and emphasized for the character.

On the positive end - Kate Beckinsale plays her role very well and looks good too. David Hasselhoff plays is great as the boss and his only comic scene is hilarious but you already see that in the trailer. Christopher Walken delivers his lines well and is funny as usual - but he plays a very minor role so we don't see much. This would have been a 7.5 if we had a better actor than the very limited Adam Sandler. Suppose Kevin Spacey, Ben Stiller, or even Jim Carrey. I saw it because the trailer was very promising, plot sounded good. The trailer had all the substance of the movie and the funniest jokes. The rest of the movie wasn't anywhere near the material in the trailer. If you can stand Adam Sandler as an actor - good movie.

  • An excellent, clever comedy with no flaws

The plot of the movie is VERY amusing. The cast is talented. Leena does a great job of playing the clever wife and her friend offers great supporting role. Uttpal Dutt is EXCELLENT as usual in his comedy role. The two guys and the rest of the cast - do a great job. Not one single character was poorly played IMO. Loved the dialogue. Music is good (you can't go wrong with Rafi, Kishore, and Asha). If you liked Choti Si Baat, Pati Patni Aur Woh,GolMaal, etc (movies where you could relate to simple real life characters rather than Amitabh Bachchan jumping off a cliff and beating up 10 guys at once) then you'll love this one too. This movie is relatively short and simple but very cute and amusing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Not as loaded with comic misunderstandings as Angoor nor does it have so much star power but don't let that deter you from this hidden gem.

  • Bearable but not entertaining despite great cast ; great songs

Music is excellent with Mohd Rafi and Shankar Jaikishan. The villains are portrayed by three legendary character actors Pran KN Singh, and HB Shetty. David is great and Rajendrath is hilarious and charming. Sharmila Tagore is lovely and plays her part well. Scenery is beautiful.

So why only a 6 despite all that? The plot was not well written. The first 20 minutes is good, the story seems promising and the French man is hilarious. Then the next 75 minutes is just Shammi Kapoor trying to woo Sharmila Tagore repeatedly and it really isn't amusing or charming but kind of a drag. If the director was someone as skilled as Hrishikesh Mukherjee it could have been different but that's not the case here. Shammi Kapoor had potential but too bad he didn't always take care of himself. Then the last hour is just a trite conflict, nothing remarkable. Everything was great but the story was average - and that is important. You can watch this movie completely for free and legally at rajshri and so for this I'll give it an extra point and make it a 7.
